God's Invitation to You

God created mankind to have fellowship with us, but our first parents disobeyed Him, plunging the entire race into sin and death. We are all born in sin, and continually disobey God’s commands in thought, word, and deed.

God is holy and righteous. He feels a righteous anger against sin, because it is cosmic treason against Him. He cannot let the wicked go unpunished. At the same time, He is abounding in mercy, and desires to show us compassion.

Since we could not work out way back to God, God came to us. Jesus, as God incarnate, lived the perfect life we never could, and offered His life on the cross in our place. He took the sins of His people upon Himself on the cross. God viewed Him as if He committed those sins and punished Him, pouring out upon Him the wrath we deserve.

Three days later God raised Jesus from the dead, proving He is our Savior. Now He is seated at the right hand of God, interceding for His people, ruling and reigning on high until He comes to judge the living and the dead.

When we simply embrace Jesus by faith, coming to God empty handed, adding no merit of our own, we receive full forgiveness of sin, and the relationship with God that we ruined by our rebellion is restored forever. We are at that moment justified in God’s sight, having Christ’s righteousness imputed to our account. Because Jesus rose again from the dead, never to die again, those who believe in Jesus will also live on forever in heaven with Him.
