Not All Roads Lead Home
Have you ever found yourself on the wrong road? You had great confidence the direction you were going was right but the road never ended where you wanted to go! This is true in life as well? You had dreams of what life should be. You had dreams of a perfect ending… but now, your life is a mishmash of wrong choices and wrong turns. The road you now travel is not taking you where you want to go! You are not content. In fact, you might describe yourself as numb. If it weren’t for your mood elevators you wouldn’t have any life at all! All that seems to be left is broken dreams. You would like to scream or cry but no one cares. You would like to go home but you don’t know where home is.
I once saw a quote that goes like this: "No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." This too is true of life. You may have traveled way too far on the wrong road and made many wrong choices but you can start today anew with a new ending! There is someone who does care very deeply about you and knew you before you were ever created. His name is God and the Bible says His thoughts of you outnumber the grains of sand!
Christians often say life with Christ is about new beginnings. Even though this is true it does sound a bit syrupy when your life is in turmoil. I want you know that God does care. He desperately wants you to find the road home. He created you with free will and you must desire to find the right road. God will take you in whatever condition you find yourself today. He will work in you and through you to give you a new ending. The bible says the road that leads to destruction is like a paved highway but the path leading to eternal life is narrow and few find it. The narrow road leads home… a new and perfect ending!
Isn’t it about time to let God have the remainder of your life? Isn’t it about time to rediscover church or discover it for the first time? Find a Bible and read the 139th Psalm and discover how God wrapped Himself in the life of King David. God cares for you as much as anyone! He sent His only Son to die for you so you could have a new ending! God has a plan and a purpose for you regardless of your age or the mess you may have made of your life. He is simply waiting for you… patiently waiting. Why put Him off any longer?
